Many of you bought the newest of Apple’s gadgets, the AirPods. Although it has a sleek design and simple automatic functioning, people have reported some issues. In this post, we will help you connect your Apple AirPods to your iPhone as well as help you fix some common issues.
Apple AirPods: Here’s How to Fix Common Issues
AirPods are not some ordinary wireless headphones. AirPods are the futuristic wireless headphones with voice recognition technology. They are integrated fully with Apple’s virtual assistant Siri. This means you can do absolutely anything you do with Siri using your voice through AirPods.
For instance, you can ask Siri to:
- Turn up/down the volume
- Play from your playlist
- Directions to any destination
- Call a contact in your iPhone
…and much more!
You must be all excited now to try out your AirPods as soon as possible. So let’s see how you can connect your Apple AirPods to your iPhone without wasting any time.
Connect AirPods to your iPhone
Connecting AirPods to your iOS device such as iPhone or iPad is a no fuss process. However, you need an iCloud account connected on your iPhone or iOS device. To connect:
- Open the AirPods case
- Your iPhone or iOS device will detect your AirPods automatically
- Tap Connect on the popup on your iPhone.
…and that’s it! Now your AirPods are connected to your device. You can connect your AirPods to almost all of your iOS devices such as devices with macOS Sierra, iOS 10, or watchOS 3. You may also be able to connect your AirPods to some of the nonApple devices as well.
Fix Common Issues related to AirPods
If you couldn’t resist buying Apple AirPods you must have faced some issues and we will attempt to help you fix them here. But, for others this section can serve as an insight into common issues in AirPods so you can make an informed choice of whether to buy AirPods or not.
Fix Common Issue #1: Battery Life\
Fortunately, I didn’t have to face this issue but I read in an article that users are reporting some issues with battery life of AirPods. Their wireless AirPods are draining a little too quickly and it seems there is no cure.
AirPods charge within their charging case and we believe the draining issues are not related to AirPods themselves but with some fault in the case that doubles up as charging case for AirPods.
Fix Common Issue #2: Losing AirPods
AirPods are small, wireless and pretty heavy on the pocket. So, losing them or one of them is a great concern among those who buy them or are considering to. Misplacing them is easy as is the chance of them getting them lost among your luggage.
One thing you can do is to always store them in their casing. Also, if one of your AirPods falls off your ear, the other one also stops working at once so you’d know the missing AirPod as soon as it falls. As such the design is sturdy enough that it’s not going to fall no matter what you do.
There was an app called “Finder for AirPods” but Apple removed it and those who bought the app got refunds.
Fix Common Issue #3: Automatic Call Drop
It’s another common issue with AirPods but a bit more annoying. What happens is that sometimes while you’re having an important conversation over AirPods, the connection between your Airpods and iPhone is lost. This drops your call automatically.
What you can do to fix this common issue with AirPods is:
- Put your AirPods in the charging case to reset them
- Turn Bluetooth off and on
- Restart your iPhone
- This issue commonly occurs if AirPods battery is low
Hope this post helps you in deciding whether to buy AirPods or not.
